According to a recent blog post, the Android 7.0 Nougat update is coming to several Samsung smartphones soon.

After updating the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edg e, South Korean electronics giant detailed the devices that will get the much awaited OS upgrade. Those are the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy Tab A w/ S Pen, Galaxy Tab S2 (LTE unlock), Galaxy A3, and Galaxy A8.
Its not clear what Galaxy A3 or A8 variant will get the update, but it is safe to say that itll be the (2016) variants. Samsung did not specify timelines and regions, but itll be released †œwithin the first half of this year,†Samsung said.
The devices will get upgraded Quick Panel and Notifications, Multi Window, Performance Mode, and Samsung Pass.
However, the list is short and failed to include t he more affordable J series. Lets hope that Samsung will give them the same Nougat treatment as well.
