Chrome browser gets Web VR support

In a bid to make VR content accessible for all, Google is adding Web VR support to Chrome browser, which means you can now view or navigate VR contents on web.

To interact with VR contents on Chrome browser, open a VR website you want to view on your Daydream ready phone (like Pixel, Pixel XL, Moto Z), then choose to enter VR, and slide the phone in your Daydream View headset to experience VR.

Even if you dont have a Daydream ready device, you can still view the VR content on any phone or desktop computer and interact using your finger or mouse.

Google has listed some of the website that support VR contents and says it will add more websites soon. These include ̢ۥ
  • Bear 71: The intersection between humans, animals and technology (interactive documentary)
  • Matterport’s library of 300,000+ celebrity homes, museums, canyons, iconic architecture and other real places
  • Withing: Extra Ordinary stories (includes 24 award-winning VR films)
  • Sketchcab (includes million stunning 3D scenes in VR)
  • WebVR Lab from Play Canvas.
Google said that it plans to add support for more headsets including Car dboard View to Chormes Web VR feature soon.
