The one of the biggest problems for the Apple users who carry iPhones and iPads came to an end. SanDisks iXpand Flash Drive makes it easy and possible to transfer files between your PC and Phone.
SanDisk offers one of the few genuinely usable storage-expansion and data-backup solutions for users who own Appleâs iOS devicesâ"iPhones and iPads.

Its a Thumb-drive that works with either a regular USB port on a computer, or a lighting port on an Apple mobile device. When connected to an iPhone or an iPad, you can use a free app, called iXpand Drive, to playback content stored on the drive -- a wide variety of video, audio and document files -- or back up the phones photos and contacts.
DESIGN
It made of metal and a flexible rubber, material, has a curved design with a Lightning connector on one end and a USB connector on the other end. When plugged into an iPhone, the USB connector wraps around the back, allowing the iPhone to be used as normal while its plugged in.
On a Mac or PC, the iXpand fits into any USB port and features USB 3.0 transfer speeds for moving files between devices. Neither the USB side nor the Lightning side are protected with caps, something that could potentially be an issue if the iXpand is tossed into a bag or backpack.

APP Interface
The iXpand Drive app is required to use the iXpand because it enables all of the iXpands backup and file transfer/management functionality . Appleâs iOS platform does not come with an integrated file manager app, and has limitations when it comes to sharing data. This app, and the drive, work around those. This app is feature rich, with a simple layout for managing files and support for transferring and sharing files.

BACKUP
The other big advantage is the ability to create backups of the data, such as photographs, on your phone. We tested a variety of file formats such as .docx, .mp3, .mp4 and .mkv, and they can all be shared and stored via the iXpandâ"average data transfer speeds are a nippy 40MB/s. However, you cannot back up or transfer protected content, such as music purchased on the Apple Music app.
The iXpand is useful for people who dont have enough storage space, whether due to a 16GB iOS device or a media collection that exceeds the available space even on a device with more storage. They can quickly put the photos and documents on it to free up space on the phone.
According to SanDisk, the iXpand works with the iPhone 5 and later, the iPad Air and later, the iPad mini and later, and the 5th generation iPod touch.
