ZTEs sub-brand nubia has scheduled an event for March 21 in China to launch its first dual camera smartphone. Called nubia Z17 mini, the phone will be equipped with 13MP + 13MP rear cameras (with two Sony IMX258 sensors), and 16MP front camera for selfies.
It is expected to sport 5.2-inch Full HD display and house 64GB storage, which can be expanded via microSD card. nubia will offer the Z17 in two variants, one with Snapdragon 652 chip/4GB RAM, and the other powered by Snapdragon 653 chip/6GB RAM.
The phone will also feature fingerprint scanner, hybrid dual-SIM slots, 4G VoLTE support, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.1, USB Type-C and fast charging technology. It is expected to ship with Android Marshmallow based nubia UI 4.0 and will be fueled by a beefy 4000mAh battery.
Meanwhile a live photo of the phone in white hue, showing the front part leaked online. The photo shows the oval shaped home button with a small red circle on the middle. The home button is most likely to hide the fingerprint sensor, which will be first time on a nubia smartphone. Usually the fingerprint scanner is situated at the rear.
The nubia Z17 price is rumored to start at CNY 1899 ($274 | Rs. 18,000). All the official details will be next week.
